Literacy topics from now until Christmas:

In Literacy we will be writing poems with the children for a national competition as well as continuing to work on our spelling, punctuation and grammar.  

Maths topics from now until Christmas:

In Maths we have been looking at the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and we will continue with this work throughout the term.

Curriculum topics from now until Christmas:

Our current topic question is ‘Fire, Fire. What happens when a disaster strikes?’ We will be learning all about The Great Fire of London. When it took place. Where it took place. Also the children will be learning about fire safety and what to do when there is a fire in their house or school.

Our topic Question for Autumn 2 will be ‘Who is the lady with the lamp?’ During this topic the children will be learning about the history of Florence Nightingale. Who she is. Why she is significant and the period of time when she was alive.

News from the Staff:

Y2BD are settling into Y2 really well. They are maturing and getting use to the routines and learning that happens in Y2.
