News from the Staff:

The children have settled well into Year Two and we have very much enjoyed getting to know your child.  Now the children are settled in their routines our focus is on enjoying our learning challenges and trying our best in what we do.

This half term we are learning about The Great Fire of London.  We will be learning about the history of the fire and linking our science work by looking at materials.

We have been looking at the four operations and we will continue with this work.

In Literacy :

we will be writing poems with the children for a national competition as well as continuing to work on our spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Looking forward

Next half term we will be looking at The Lady with the Lamp (Florence Nightingale) and asking who she was and what role she played in history. We are hoping to have an exciting visitor in our class to help with this topic.
